Their weapons should be around level 10 – 12 each. They are at level 34, which is awesome at this point of the game. Just talk to Humphrey (the big guy facing the wall near the stairway in the inn) then stay the night twice and then you will go into the Kent rescue side quest and Humphrey and Futch will join temporarily.
